Yusuf Al-Rahman is a graduate of Sacred Heart University's Film & Television Master of Arts program. His passion as a filmmaker was influenced early in his life from prominent filmmakers like, Luke Besson, Ousmane Sembene, Michael Mann, Moustapha Akkad, and a few other stylized filmmakers.

 

He spent his early childhood years in West Africa where he grew fond of writing short stories eventually transitioning to long narrative stories. The journey eventually led him to make the decision of becoming a filmmaker and sharing his passion with the world.

 

So far, he has garnered 8 African Academy Award Nominations from ZAFAA Global, 2014 for acclaimed short film "Father Must Die" & seven in 2016  for "Niya" an award winning independent  feature film.
